How it works

A first pass to take your baseline, then practice that follows the gaps — not a random quiz on loop.

Step 1

Try 5 free questions

One from each topic area where we can, so the diagnostic starts honest.

Step 2

We find the weak rules

After that baseline, 70% of new questions come from your weakest topics. Strong topics still appear so it doesn't become a drill.

Step 3

Watch readiness move

Recent answers count more than old ones. Nail a previously weak topic and the score climbs — it won't jump to 100% on a lucky streak.

FAQ

How is this different from a pile of Road Code quizzes?
Practice begins with a diagnostic pass across each topic, then concentrates on the rules you have not yet mastered. Seventy percent of new questions target your weakest topics; the remaining thirty percent stay mixed so the session still feels like a real test. Your readiness score gives more weight to recent answers than to older ones.
Do I need an account?
No. Practice, checkout, and Progress all work without signing in. An optional account (Google or email link — no password) lets you restore a purchase on a new device. Pay once per licence — $19.99 NZD, not a subscription. Heavy Vehicle and Dangerous Goods can also be bought together as the Commercial Driver Pack for $34.99.
Is this the official NZTA test?
No. Passit Drive is independent practice, not the official sitting. NZTA’s learner theory test is a computer-based, 35-question multi-choice exam taken at a driver licensing agent. For a car or motorcycle learner licence you need at least 32 correct answers to pass; for a heavy vehicle learner licence you need at least 33. You still need to sit the official test. Dangerous Goods (D endorsement) has no public NZTA multi-choice theory test — our questions are NZQA unit standard 16718 course-prep.
Are these official NZTA questions?
No. All practice questions are originally written by Passit, not reproduced from official NZTA test papers or any other copyrighted source. We write to the published Road Code and licence-class rules.
